How Could Abraham Been Ready To Kill His Son Isaac? Hebrews 11:17-19 Explains

Probably the best example we can find in the Bible regarding faith would have to be none other then Abraham being tested by God found in Genesis 22. After having my own children this happening was hard to comprehend. How could Abraham have been truly ready to take his beloved son’s precious life without question? The truth behind Abraham’s incredible faith is revealed in Hebrews 11:17-19.

vs19. Abraham reasoned that God could raise the dead, and figuratively speaking, he did received Isaac back from the death.

God’s definition of faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Part of our journey here on earth is a series of test given to us by God. He does this not to trip us up, but to show us we need Him desperately. When we get to comfortable and complacent in life, things tend to start happening. Circumstances that come our way are no accident or fluke. There is no such thing as fate, destiny, chance, or luck.

The ever popular proverb that most of us should memorize is Proverbs 3:5-6. When things start getting messy and challenging recite these two scripture verses. It’s a reminder of who is in charge of your life.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Abraham’s faith in God was an incredible example of belief and trust.  It is hard to fathom being put in that position, but clearly Abraham passed the test of proving to place his trust fully in God’s abilities.
